Alchemy of Being
15-21 January, Sri Lanka
An illuminating 6-night immersion in the tropics
We have just one room left, which can be booked as solo or shared. Please email hello@hart-spaces.com for more details on our special offer for the final room.
A Space to soften into being
Sri Lanka has a way of slowing everything down. The land, the warmth, the rhythm of the days, it naturally invites the nervous system to settle and the body to remember what ease feels like.
A place to soften out of urgency and return to a way of being that feels more present, grounded, and alive.
This retreat is not about fixing or forcing.
It’s about creating the conditions where alchemy naturally unfolds when there is space to simply be.
Who this Retreat for?
This retreat is for women who are:
Drawn to the alchemy that naturally unfolds when there is space to be + who value experiences that feel spacious, supportive, and unhurried.
Craving a full tonic for body, mind, and spirit, where practices aren’t separate from life, but woven into how you move, rest, and connect with the world around you.
Curious to explore embodied practices like yoga and qi gong beyond surface level - in ways that feel lived, grounded, and embedded rather than performative.
Longing to feel more connected and attuned to their bodies, their nervous systems, and the wisdom of our cycle.
Excited to gather in an environment with like-minded women who value depth, connection, joy, and exploration - without pressure or expectation.
Keen to experience Sri Lanka’s unique energy, culture and wisdom.
And for women who sense that life is asking for a more aligned rhythm — something softer, slower, and more present.
The Experience
The days unfold slowly and organically, guided by the natural rhythm of nature.
Mornings begin with practices like embodied yoga, qi-gong, somatics and meditation - inviting you gently back into your body and into presence.
Afternoons offer space. Time by the ocean. Rest, exploration, or quiet integration.
Evenings offer a fusion of restful practices, circles, ritual, and ceremony, reflections, and connection.
This will be our second retreat in Sri Lanka, and Varsana’s fourth visit to this beautiful island. Over the years, Sri Lanka has become a place where we’ve formed meaningful connections, and we couldn’t imagine a more aligned setting for this immersion.
Throughout the week, we’ll explore practices that move beneath the physical - attuning to the body’s subtle energetics and its innate capacity to integrate experience into embodied wisdom.
Thoughtful excursions with practitioners we know on the island will also offer deeper connection to Sri Lanka’s land, culture, and traditions.
Our hope is that the nourishment of this experience stays with you long after you return home - continuing to support how you move, rest, and live through the seasons ahead.
Your Sanctuary in Sri Lanka
Nestled on the tranquil shores of Koggala Lake in southern Sri Lanka, Kurulu Bay will be our home for the week — a boutique jungle sanctuary where time naturally slows and there is space to exhale.
The land offers space to wander and to be still. Quiet corners for solitude, two pools to soften into, and a deck overlooking the lake where evenings gently unfold as the light fades.
Here, the environment itself becomes part of the experience, shaping the rhythm of the days and supporting rest, presence, and connection.
Just a short tuk-tuk ride away are the golden beaches and the town of Ahangama, offering the option to explore, wander, or simply be with the surrounding landscape in your own time.
The Shala & Spa
Practices take place in the open, airy shala overlooking the lake, surrounded by fragrant frangipani treetops.
A short walk from the shala, there is space to receive bodywork and treatments thoughtfully selected to support rest, regulation, and repair. Drawing from both Eastern and Western healing traditions, each session is offered with intuitive care and attention — creating an environment where the nervous system can soften, and the body can truly rest and restore..
Our Indigenous Medicine for Women Workshop
By Sarana x Vedda Rituals
As part of the experience, we’ll join Dr. Mansha for an immersive exploration of Helawedakama — Sri Lanka’s ancient indigenous medicine system focused on women’s wellbeing.
Together, we’ll discover how traditional herbal wisdom can support your hormonal balance, menstrual health, and overall vitality. This workshop will guide you in preparing healing concoctions using time-honored ingredients and indigenous herbs known for their natural estrogenic properties.
You’ll also receive a complimentary follow-up 1:1 online consultation with Dr. Mansha to support you post retreat.
Travel & Tranfers
We know traveling to a new place—or even traveling solo—can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. That’s why we’re here to support you every step of the way and make your journey as smooth and stress-free as possible. When you book your spot, you’ll receive recommend flights, a detailed get-ready guide, and access to our group WhatsApp closer to the retreat date, so you can ask any questions and feel fully supported.
We’ll also organise one group transfer to and from the venue, but if that doesn’t work for you, no worries—we’re happy to help arrange a solo transfer instead. Everything you need to know about packing, preparations, visas and what to expect will be included in your get-ready guide.

Hey, I’m Varsana. Honestly, I’m just so grateful you found your way here. I started Hartspaces because I believe in creating spaces that are about you reconnecting with your own wisdom, the rhythm of nature, and a community that truly sees you.
Our retreats are made with so much love and intention—to meet you exactly where you’re at in your journey. They’re a space to slow down and pour some love back into your life; to awaken to the body’s wisdom, the feeling of living from the heart, the warmth that comes from being in community, and the clarity that arrives through direct, embodied, lived experience.
I can’t wait to welcome you in, hold space for your unfolding, and witness the beautiful, unexpected things that arise when you give yourself space to peel back the layers and permission to just be.

“Attending Varsana’s yoga retreat at Lanka Yoga in Sri Lanka was a truly transformative experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth, wisdom, kindness and an energy that made me feel both grounded and uplifted. Varsana’s teaching is a perfect blend of deep grounded knowledge, gentle encouragement, and guidance—she created a space where all of us, regardless of level, could deepen their practice both physically and spiritually.
This retreat was not just about yoga—it was about self-discovery, growth, and community and delicious food. I left feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and deeply grateful for the experience. If you have the opportunity to go on retreat with Varsana, especially in a setting as beautiful as Lanka Yoga, take it—you won’t regret it!”
